Power Transmission Products. Whether it be driving or timing applications, there are different types of belts and corresponding pulleys available to best suit the job.

The most common form of power transmission products are roller chains, where rotation is enabled through the interlinking of sprocket teeth with short cylindrical rollers joined together by side links. Roller chain and sprockets provide high power synchronous drive systems and are used for a variety of applications and machinery.

Timing belts and (synchronous) pulley drives are used for control moving and driving component parts or shafts in agricultural, automotive, and industrial applications. Timing belts are composed of three elements:  a rubber compound to make up the tooth; nylon to cover it; and high modular fiber glass cords to resist tensile stress. They are non-slip mechanical drives and are designed in different pitch sizes to best suit high power precision transmissions.

For linking two or more rotating shafts, V-belts can be used. These are the most widely used belt and pully system, and can also be used in agricultural, automotive, and industrial applications for control moving and driving component parts. V-belts are often virtually maintenance free, highly efficient, and highly tolerable of misalignment.

For smaller pulley diameters, cogged v-belts can be used, or for lower noise output at higher speeds and subsequently smoother running, poly v-belts can be used.

Electric motors are used for driving applications that require a power input, such as conveyor systems, fans, compressors, pumps, or other machinery types.

Between the motor and the driven application, a gearbox can be used to adjust speed and torque.

To allow for misalignment and movement, couplings can be used, where two rotating shafts are joined together at their ends. Flexible couplings are used to absorb shock, vibration and noise in slightly misaligned shafts, whilst rigid couplings are used for a more secure hold and precise alignment.
